About Lucie Timonier

Swiss-American Textile Artist based in LA. Has an intuitive, and rigorous approach that enables conceptually driven work. Strives to use the skills acquired to share a vision through the wide range of mediums allowed by a textile practice. Left European upbringing and graduated with a Textile Art Associates from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, then moved to New York City to gain experience with Schumacher Textiles and Patterson Flynn Martin. Post six months of industry work, lived in Melbourne to complete a Bachelor in Textile Design at RMIT. In 2019, work opportunities allowed for a move back to LA. During this new chapter Bamboo Drift Studios was created; a place where collaborations, freelance and personal projects are developed.

Personal work is minimal, bold, organized and heavily rooted in research with a focus on color-play and harmony explored through the opportunities afforded by screen printing and multimedia textile practices. These past few months have been focused on natural dyes and non-toxic inks. The mission is to create sustainable textiles that are both artisanal and elegant.
